The Khadi and Village Industries Commission has provided assistance to Karnataka State Khadi and Village Industries Board under three schemes namely, the Pattern Based Scheme (from 1957-58 to 1994-95) & CBC Scheme (from 1995-1996 to 1999-2000) and Rural Employment Generation Programme (from 2000-01 to 2007-08). All the three schemes are not now operational.

The Ministry of MSME, Government of India, has introduced Prime Ministers Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) from the financial year 2008-09. The KVIC being the Nodal agency, is Implementing the scheme through KVIC State branch, KVIB and DIC agencies. Under this scheme, government subsidy ranging from 15% to 35% will be provided for the project financed by the Bank to the beneficiary and margin money will be provided by KVIC.
The Karnataka Government has introduced Chief Minister Employment Generation Programme (CMEGP) from the financial year 2015-16. Karnataka KVIB and District Industries Centre are impliminting the scheme. Under this scheme, government subsidy ranging from 15% to 35% will be provided for the project financed by the Bank to the beneficiary and margin money will be provided by GOK.
